I have noticed a growing phenomenon in our society - you meet someone - fall in love or major like - you begin to procreate (on purpose or by accident) - move in together (rent a place or buy a house) - you open joint accounts for household/ child related expenses - yet you do not say I do?!?!
I understand things happen beyond our control - you may not have planned to have the child - but you want to provide your children with the family atmosphere, hence why you move in together - and I guess people find it more simple to share accounts to pay for bills - (BUT do you keep your own secret stash???).
The woman cooks, cleans, takes care of the children, supports you through all the ups and downs, and you do not want to get married?! Does this mean she is not the one and you are perpetuating a role until the "one" comes along or just to make things look good for your children? I have even come across men who want to marry the women - BUT the women do not want to get married because they are "perfectly content" with their situation and do not see the need for change.
This leaves me baffled - why would you NOT want to get married?! You are living the married life, playing the part, but the key component is your union is not legal or honored by God. If you really love this person and the two of you have an implicit devotion to supporting one another's happiness and goals; they were good enough to co-parent your child, live with, share accounts, etc - why not take the plunge???
And here is yet ANOTHER blog on the same topic which I happen to love. http://networkedblogs.com/qpnV4

THANK YOU for speaking on this! You forgot one thing though.. that women now a day do all of that (maintaining house, children, etc.) AND still hold down a 9-5, career or whatever and are expected to contribute to the household equally if not more in a lot of situations. Boy I tell ya. Someone got the game messed up along the way. "Perfectly content" is NOT what's poppin SMH
